Born and raised in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Ashley is a rising senior at Vanderbilt University, double majoring in Public Policy Studies and Human and Organizational Development, with a Community Leadership and Development concentration. Following years of direct service, Ashley first became inspired to organize against injustice and oppression with Vanderbilt Students of Nonviolence as they fought for income rights for university employees. In 2009, Ashley directed the canvas for Mid TN Jobs with Justice’s living wage campaign as a Generation Change intern. Ashley also enjoys volunteering with Best Buddies, an international organization that strives to improve the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities through one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. After attending the first annual Best Buddies Spring Break trip to Knoxville, TN in 2009 Ashley began working towards inclusion and equality for people with intellectual disabilities and coordinated three Best Buddies spring break trips 2010.
